Question 1

What is webtv.pk?

Accepted Answer

webtv.pk is a free, viewer-first directory of publicly available live TV channels. It brings together channels from Pakistan and around the world into one clean, searchable interface. You can browse by category, country, or language, and watch directly in your browser — no account or subscription required.

Question 2

Do I need to create an account?

Accepted Answer

No. webtv.pk is completely open — no sign-up, no login, no fees. Just visit the site, find a channel, and press play.

Question 3

Where does the channel data come from?

Accepted Answer

All channel listings, stream URLs, logos, and metadata are synchronized from the iptv-org/iptv public repository, which is released under the CC0 (public domain) license. webtv.pk does not host or control any stream — it simply links to publicly listed sources.

Question 4

Why won't a stream play?

Accepted Answer

Live streams can fail for several reasons: the source server may be temporarily down, the stream may be geo-blocked outside its broadcast region, or the stream may require specific headers that browsers block for security. When a stream fails to load directly, webtv.pk automatically retries through a server-side proxy that injects the correct headers. If it still fails, the stream is likely offline or geo-restricted.

Question 5

Why do some channels have dual audio or overlapping voices?

Accepted Answer

This is usually caused by the stream source itself, not the player. Some broadcasters embed multiple audio feeds in a single stream. If you hear overlapping audio, try pausing and reloading the channel. If the issue persists, please report it so we can investigate the specific feed.

Question 6

How often are streams checked for availability?

Accepted Answer

webtv.pk runs automated health probes on a regular schedule to check whether each stream URL is reachable. The results are shown as Live, Offline, or Check status badges on each channel card. Keep in mind that a stream marked offline from our probe location may still work in its target broadcast region.

Question 7

Can I request a new channel to be added?

Accepted Answer

Channel listings come from the iptv-org repository, not from webtv.pk directly. To request a new channel, you can submit it to the iptv-org project on GitHub. Once accepted there, it will automatically appear in webtv.pk after the next catalog sync.

Question 8

Is it legal to watch these streams?

Accepted Answer

webtv.pk only links to streams that are publicly listed in the iptv-org repository under a CC0 license. However, public listing does not establish redistribution or embedding rights. Stream availability and viewing rights vary by channel and region. webtv.pk does not host, transcode, or modify any stream — it only links to the source. Rights holders should verify each stream independently.

Question 9

How do I report a broken stream or audio issue?

Accepted Answer

Use the Report a Broken Stream page to submit a quick report. Select the issue type (not working, audio problems, video problems, etc.), add the channel name, and optionally describe what happened. Every report is reviewed and helps improve the directory for everyone.

Question 10

Why is a channel geo-blocked?

Accepted Answer

Some broadcasters restrict their streams to specific countries or regions. If you're outside the allowed region, the stream will fail to load. This is a server-side restriction set by the broadcaster and cannot be bypassed by webtv.pk. You may still see the channel listed, but it will show as offline or fail to play.
